I love my job! Some of my favorite projects involve using old pieces that were family heirlooms, pieces collected from travels, photos of loved ones, and any items that bring you joy. Updating this room involved getting new sheer drapes, new custom bedding, and a couple of new art pieces and mixing it with the heirloom benches, timeless furniture with gold, Greek-key hardware, and some original art that has been brought back from some amazing trips.
This project started with painting the walls a Wet Cement color. The custom bedding was pieced together from fabric stores, online stores, and (of course) #HomeGoods. The art was a mix of old and new, paint and print, framed and canvased. The accessories consisted of a few quirky heirloom knick-knacks along with 2 Lladro figurines and a couple of antique bronze trays.
The bedroom was completed in about 3 hours. It took a few weeks of prep time but the install day was beautiful and stress-less. Thanks to my helpful assistant Alix Denton for wearing a matching outfit and pushing furniture around with me!
